Lutheran Church of Our Savior is looking for an organized and goal-oriented Office Administrator to support our ministry to members and our community. Office Administrator skills and qualifications
A successful Office Administrator candidate will hold a variety of skills and qualifications to complete the necessary duties, including:
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proven experience as an office assistant, office administrator or in another relevant position
- Outstanding abilities to communicate in person, in writing, and over the phone
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other office management tools and applications (especially Outlook, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, Facebook, and Canva), and the capacity to learn new systems as needed
· Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and manage tasks without the need for micromanagement.
· Capacity for kindness and compassion for folks from diverse backgrounds who participate in the congregation’s ministries.
Office Administrator education requirements
· A qualified candidate will hold a High School Diploma, GED or higher.
Supervision expectations
· The Office Administrator will work closely with the pastor and is accountable to the Congregation Council which handles all personnel decisions including hiring, raises, performance plans, etc. They will also coordinate with volunteers on occasion.
· This position does require time in the office to process phone messages, mail, preparation for Sunday morning worship, and some record keeping. But there are also tasks like PowerPoint preparation that can be done outside of regular business hours or at home. When orientation is complete, up to 8 hours a week can be done remotely if desired.
