The Role: As a member of the Multicultural Counseling team, the Mental Health Clinician provides culturally sensitive mental health services. Their role involves helping clients navigate cultural and language barriers to access necessary mental health, medical, social, and educational services. Our work schedule is flexible at 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed counseling to individuals, families, and groups
Maintain active case load including case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards
Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to determine treatment needsand referrals to medication management or other adjunctive services (e.g. support group, peer support, case management)
Apply evidenced-based practices in treatment
Collaborate with consumer supports, including family members, partner agencies, and others as indicated on an ongoing basis
Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served
Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members, and facilitate development of a positive staff support network
Requirements:
Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field
Meet OAR requirements for a QMHP and possess/work toward MHACBO certification as a QMHP-C unless already pursuing licensure through another counseling/social work profession’s board
Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual a plus
Clearances: Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender, ORCHARDS, SAM/OIG required.
