Must-Have :
- Knowledge of medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting and recording
- Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and its application
- Willingness to comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, and philosophy of the institution
- Courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors, and co-workers
- Awareness of cost containment, time management, and proper equipment care
- Ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives
- Good communication and observation skills
Job Description :
Supervise nursing services to ensure resident care complies with good nursing practices and applicable regulations.Oversee daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and LPNs.Administer and record medication, treatments, and monitoring, such as glucose checks.Accurately transcribe physician's orders and complete monthly summaries.Update care plans with accurate reflections of residents' conditions.Notify the RN Supervisor of significant changes in residents' conditions and report changes accordingly.Communicate resident transfers to immediate family and department heads.Assist physicians during rounds, examinations, and treatments as needed.Collect laboratory specimens and ensure their delivery with complete requisitions.Supervise and assist with postmortem procedures and notify department heads of death.Encourage resident participation in scheduled activities.Report changes in resident condition and care plan changes to the team.Assist with annual evaluations of nursing assistants and write commendations and counseling records.Complete incident reports accurately and assist team members as needed.Document weights and vital signs, addressing discrepancies when necessary.Clean and stock treatment trays daily, maintain accurate inventory of resident belongings.Supervise and direct resident care by nursing assistants, ensuring the care plan is executed.Adjust staffing assignments for optimal resident care and conduct team conferences as needed.Monitor and ensure staff familiarity with changes in policies and procedures.Collect data for quality assurance studies and monitor nurse aide job performance for infection control compliance.Provide direct care to residents when necessary and within restrictions.Document drug disposal, attend in-services, department, staff, and committee meetings.Assist new nursing staff orientation and resource for peer clarification on responsibilities.Dress Code :
