Educates patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity and glucose testing. Collects patient data to monitor health status and proactively manage the patient's condition. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area and certification as a registered nurse. Typically required to be a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Salary : $63,500 - $80,400
