What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Days (Full-Time) position at Lutheran Senior Services?
Summary
Provides a variety of non-routine and semiskilled duties in maintaining buildings and equipment at the community
Responsibilities
1. Completes work orders as assigned, through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), to repair or install equipment and machinery or assist residents and/or customers with general maintenance needs
2.Conducts equipment maintenance, testing, lubricating, and cleaning machinery and reporting any equipment malfunctions, repairs or replaces defective items and maintains operational logs
3. Assists in maintaining the appearance of the main buildings, outside buildings and grounds, including snow removal and salting
4. Utilizes hand and power tools, following all necessary safety procedures
5. May be responsible for conducting inspections and drills (“Life Safety”) including but not limited to sprinkler inspections, fire drills, electrical inspections, bed inspections etc.
6. Follows infection control procedures, including proper hand washing, trash/waste storage and disposal and wearing protective clothing and equipment when handling waste and chemical agents.
7. Follows all safety procedures and protocol as dictated by LSS policy, federal and state regulations and reports all hazardous conditions, defective equipment and accidents or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
8. Required to remain on-call, when assigned; Performs on-call duties as scheduled
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High school diploma or equivalent; Trade school preferable
Valid driver’s license preferred
Must possess knowledge of maintenance operations, hand and power tools and mechanical ability
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations
Experience with “The WorxHUB” CMMS preferred

Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus within guidelines of standard precautions.
