About the Role:
Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a highly skilled Disabilities Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of children enrolled in our programs.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Child Health and Safety Manager to plan, coordinate, and monitor compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Florida licensing laws.
- Assist with the completion of child health requirements and other required screenings and assessments.
- Develop and implement training for education staff, parents, and volunteers on early childhood education and special needs support.
- Participate in quality assurance efforts and provide guidance to families and staff on disability planning and management.
- Work with local agencies to link families with community resources and services.
- Enter data into Child Plus regarding critical disability and notes, and document all efforts to assist families and track child outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Special Education, ESE, or Behavior-related field.
- At least two years of experience working in an ESE/School District, Early Head Start, Head Start, or social services environment serving culturally diverse low-income children and families.
- Working knowledge of computer data entry processes and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate ideas and instructions orally and in writing, and to speak before groups of individuals.
