Position Summary
The IT Help Desk Support Specialist is responsible for resolving IT support requests as well as helping "users" with computer issues, and continuous service delivery demands. Works with the agency IT vendor on the network system, network security, and keeping the network up to date. Tracks cell phones, computers, and other IT equipment.
Responsibilities
Mobile Device & Account Management (20%)
- Manage Verizon accounts, order devices for new hires, and suspend unused devices.
- Process monthly Verizon invoices, create Authorization for Payment (AFP), and coordinate with supervisors to assign billing codes.
- Submit invoices to the Finance Department.
Account & Equipment Support (20%)
- Disable user accounts and remove licenses for former employees.
- Assist new hires with email account setup remotely or in person.
- Apply software patches and upgrades to organizational equipment.
- Support users remotely and onsite; install and configure IT equipment.
- Address on-call IT issues as needed.
Inventory Management (20%)
- Maintain accurate inventory of active and decommissioned equipment, including laptops, cell phones, and hotspots.
Cybersecurity Assistance (20%)
- Provide training on phishing attack prevention and ensure employees are aware of common cyber-attack techniques.
- Promote Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup for company accounts.
- Respond to employee concerns about cybersecurity and educate them on standard protocols for safeguarding sensitive information.
Building Security Systems (15%)
- Support the PDK building security access system and the Emergency Team Alert System.
Other Duties (5%)
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Active Directory (1-2 years).
- Intune MDM / Office 365 / Exchange Online (1-2 years).
- PC support experience (1-2 years).
- Certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are a plus but not required.
Education:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
Language Skills:
- English (required).
- Spanish (preferred).
