Position Summary: The Account Manager role at Lux Flooring Specialists is a dynamic position focused on fostering and maintaining strong relationships with our valued B2B clients in the multi-family and apartment community sector. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, this role is pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction, driving repeat business, and identifying opportunities for growth within the Richmond market. The Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts along with the responsibility to grow Lux’s influence in the market by providing top-notch customer service and tailored flooring solutions while embodying Lux’s commitment to excellence and adaptability.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with existing and new B2B clients in the multi-family and apartment community sectors.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored flooring solutions.
  • Sales and Business Development:
  • Collaborate with the sales and service team to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within assigned accounts.
  • Proactively seek referrals and expand Lux’s footprint within the local market.
  • Customer Service Excellence:
  • Ensure seamless communication between clients and internal teams to deliver projects on time and to specifications.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and resolve issues effectively, maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
  • Operational Support:
  • Assist with project coordination, including scheduling, delivery logistics, and on-site visits when necessary.
  • Occasionally assist with hands-on tasks to ensure project success, such as site inspections and quality control confirmations.
  • Networking and Community Engagement:
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to promote Lux Flooring Specialists and build brand awareness.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and enthusiasm in all interactions.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and project details in the company’s CRM system.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on account performance, client feedback, and market trends to leadership.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Partner with the support staff to ensure smooth pre- and post-sale processes.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews to continually enhance skills and contribute to company growth.

Performance Standards: All Account Managers will be measured on sales key performance indicators such as:

  • New Customer Acquisition: Number of new clients secured in a defined timeframe.
  • Overall Sales Growth: Year-over-year revenue growth within assigned accounts and territories.
  • Client Retention Rate: Percentage of existing clients retained over a defined period.

Working Conditions: This is primarily an outside sales role, requiring frequent travel to client sites, networking events, and industry functions within the Richmond area.

  • Travel: Extensive local travel is required, with occasional long-distance trips for training or company events. A company car is provided to facilitate travel.
  • Flexibility: The role demands adaptability to varying schedules, including occasional early mornings or evenings to attend client meetings or events.

Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting while driving to client locations, standing and walking for extended periods during site visits, networking events, and trade shows, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds when assisting with minor on-site tasks or product demonstrations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Proven Sales or Account Management Experience

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a relationship-driven sales or account management role, preferably in a B2B environment or the multi-family/apartment industry.

Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse clients and stakeholders, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation

  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as frequent local travel to client sites and networking events is required (a company car is provided).

Proficiency in CRM Software

  • Familiarity with using CRM systems to manage client data, track sales activities, and generate reports.

Time Management and Organizational Skills

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving and Adaptability

  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing client needs, including a willingness to take a hands-on approach to ensure client satisfaction.
