PC and Support Technician

Position Purpose:
Responsible for hardware support of manufacturing systems and financial applications. Specific area of responsibility include support for all personal computer users at the Pomona plant. This role is responsible for hardware and software maintenance and installation. This includes, but not limited to, Windows laptops and workstations, Windows and Linux servers in a hybrid active directory and Microsoft 365 environment. This position is on the front lines to maintaining the system infrastructure, computer uptime, and user satisfaction.
Main Activities:
The main activities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Respond to, evaluate and program (design, document and implement) user requests.
Supporting all general business functions such as the SAP ERP system, the Salesforce CRM system, a variety of custom bespoke programs on the manufacturing floors.
Support automation of a variety of business processes using custom code and leveraging the tools in Microsoft 365.
Support the Kronos time and attendance system.
Support the Maintenance Connection maintenance management system.
Hydro test data collection.
Participate in both business unit and corporate wide IT business initiatives to service 900 IT service users
As the front line support interface of the 100 computer users in all locations in Southern California, must work with every user in a customer service role. Is a customer service representative of the IT department and is responsible for user satisfaction concerning the IT department. Responsible for upgrading all PC systems including operating systems, network and application software and hardware.
Must work with each of Luxfer’s systems mentioned above and be able to diagnose and cure problems which might arise in any of the systems. Because personal computers are used to access each of these systems, this person must be expert in personal computers, as well as the applications which run on them. Because of the extensive network used at Luxfer, networking expertise is also required.
Responsible to implement the backup strategy defined by the Manager of IT and the Network Administrator. Therefore, this person is responsible for the security of Luxfer’s most valuable asset, its information.
Must document all systems in the company. Responsible for the spare parts inventory of computer parts. Keeps accurate accounting of what is there, what is used and by whom parts are used.
Established and maintains relationships with major vendors, including discovery of potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, and determining suppliers.
Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
B.A. degree required in Computer Science or Information Technology and two (2) years related experience. Must have knowledge of C#, or an equivalent programming language. Knowledge of database systems, MS 365 and MS Graph, while not required is highly desirable.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Respond and relate to the Luxfer computer user community, senior management and various vendors. Write both internal memoranda and external communications using proper English. Effectively create and deliver presentations to top management.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical applications.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
