Luxium Solutions is seeking a dedicated Production & Materials Planner to join our dynamic team. The Production & Materials Planner will learn the manufacturing planning process and act as production planner for standard & recurring orders. This will include all aspects of the order receipt to manufacturing process, including MRP and work order creation. The incumbent will also participate in the implementation of the manufacturing plan, ensuring adequate subcomponent materials availability through inventory management & MRP. This role will interact with internal & external personnel to execute ensure necessary materials are on hand
This role will work strategically with operations, Vendor partners and Supplier Sourcing to reduce costs and realize optimal inventory levels while working to achieve on time deliverables and value to our customers. This role will have ownership of the demand accuracy and material and supply availability to manage the product lines assigned. The role will interface with Suppliers in the timely release and maintenance of purchase orders to support demand needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the detailed production schedule, as defined with Material & Manufacturing Planning Manager, to ensure it continues to meet business priorities and requirements; adjust supply requirements accordingly for the commodity assigned
- Utilize ERP system tools to analyze demand and scheduled needs and manage optimal supply and inventory levels to support company objectives
- Release planned production orders in support of production needs as required
- Publish regular production schedule to key stakeholders, review all production changes, limitations and priorities to meet customer orders
- Provide input on lead times for new customer orders. Expedite/De-expedite or cancel orders.
- Create and manage work orders for make items with focus on timely work order closure.
- Work closely with production and engineering to determine how much to make/buy to support timely manufacturing of production orders.
- Planning, monitoring and maintaining suitable inventory levels to ensure alignment with production volumes and working capital goals
- Develop use of MRP tools within the ERP system to best control regular supplies inventories and reorders
- Creating, modifying and submitting purchase requisitions for approval. Completing, obtaining necessary approvals and submitting all supporting documents to Purchasing.
- Resolve quality related concerns for defective materials in a timely manner
- Bachelor's Degree in Technical or related areas
- 3 years of experience in inventory control, production planning or related experience.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Experience with ERP systems with an MRP applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on process improvement and efficiency.
