The Luzerne County Transportation Authority is seeking an outgoing and customer-focused Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The Dispatcher will play a vital role in ensuring efficient transportation operations while providing the highest level of service to our customers. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Excellence:
- Greet and assist customers with inquiries regarding transportation services.
- Provide timely and accurate information about routes, schedules, and fares.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Creating and Updating Ride Accounts
Scheduling and Coordination:
- Monitor and coordinate daily transportation schedules to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Assign trips to drivers based on availability, efficiency, and customer needs.
- Communicate any changes or delays to drivers and customers promptly.
Operational Support:
- Utilize dispatching software to track vehicles and manage routes effectively.
- Collaborate with drivers to ensure adherence to safety protocols and service standards.
- Prepare and maintain records of daily operations, including passenger counts and service incidents.
Problem-Solving:
- Proactively identify and address potential service disruptions or delays.
- Develop creative solutions to enhance the overall customer experience.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement improvements in service delivery.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in transportation or customer service is a plus.
- Previous experience in a dispatching or customer service role preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using computers and dispatching software.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and a positive attitude.
- Bilingual or Spanish speaking a plus
