Luzerne Music Center is a non-profit organization that aims to provide world-class music instruction for gifted young musicians in a summer camp environment regardless of their financial circumstances. Instrumental Faculty Job Description
As a faculty member, your job will involve daily private lesson instruction, daily chamber music coaching, assist in leading weekly sectionals, and facilitating weekly studio classes as needed. You will also be required to participate in recruitment, program and seating auditions, and weekly side-by-side rehearsals with students in orchestra. While you will be directly assigned to the students in your instrument area, you will also work as part of the LMC team to provide the best experience for all of our students.
In addition to your teaching requirements, you will also perform on our weekly Faculty Artist Series chamber concerts with other faculty members. These concerts are ticketed events and open to all students at LMC as well as the public.
Dates
Junior Session: Sunday, June 22 – Friday, July 18, 2025 (Middle School Division)
Faculty positions require a full commitment at LMC’s campus during employment dates. Housing and meals provided.
Salary
$2500-5000/four-week session
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching students of a variety of ages and levels, in both individual and group settings
- Commitment to mentoring students musically and social-emotionally to contribute to overall student development
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ability to assist with recruitment efforts for middle and high school aged students, as applicable to the session(s) you are applying for
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
