An award winning infrastructure consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Biological Assessment Author to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing Biological Assessments for a variety of environmental projects, including those related to transportation infrastructure, endangered species effects, and regulatory compliance. This role requires expertise in biological assessments for transportation projects, particularly focusing on the lifecycle of Pacific Northwest salmon species, and experience with NEPA and permitting processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and complete Biological Assessments for NEPA projects, including those involving Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration, using agency templates and professional judgment.
- Conduct Biological Evaluations for Army Corps of Engineers Section 404 permitting.
- Analyze and interpret data related to project effects on the salmon lifecycle and other aquatic species.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams to ensure environmental compliance and mitigate project impacts.
- Provide expert guidance on environmental impacts, conservation strategies, and mitigation measures.
- Author, review, and edit reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to endangered species and transportation projects.
