Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Geologist to lead and manage diverse geologic projects. In this role, you will oversee site investigations, environmental assessments, and other complex geologic tasks. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide junior staff, and ensure successful project execution from inception to completion.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform environmental due diligence and geological assessments for projects in renewable energy (solar, wind, energy storage) and land development (residential, commercial).
Manage Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and field investigations.
Analyze environmental and geological data, preparing detailed reports, maps, and presentations to communicate findings to project teams and clients.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, environmental scientists, clients, government agencies, and other professionals to integrate geological insights into project planning and design.
Participate in project meetings, offering technical expertise to support decision-making processes.
Mentor and guide junior environmental staff and interns.
Assist with project administration, including scopes, budgets, proposals, contracts, and invoicing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Professional Geologist (PG) license required.
Over 10 years of relevant experience in environmental and geological assessments within the due diligence, investigation, and remediation field, preferably with experience in the renewable energy sector.
In-depth knowledge of ASTM E1527, ASTM E2247, Unified Soil Classification, USGS conventions, federal and state regulatory programs.
Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification with annual 8-hour updates required.
Proficiency in mapping, data analysis, and interpretation of environmental, geological, and hydrological data.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and with teams under strict deadlines.
Experience with environmental, geological, and consulting software and tools (e.g., MS Office suite, Quire, boring log apps, hydrologic/hydrogeologic modeling familiarity, GIS a plus).
