Custodian/Janitor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of facilities, providing a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintaining various spaces, including commercial and residential areas.

Duties
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Perform floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Assist with industrial cleaning tasks as required to maintain operational standards.
- Support custodial operations by ensuring all cleaning supplies and equipment are well-stocked and in good working condition.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance team to address any repair needs or improvements.
- Provide porter services by moving furniture or equipment as necessary for events or maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and tasks completed.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with residential painting is an advantage but not mandatory.

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week

• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
