Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of two maintenance technicians, providing training, performance evaluations, and addressing staffing needs, including hiring and termination when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative, safety-conscious work environment by offering guidance and support to team members and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Prioritize work orders, assign tasks, and follow up on assignments to ensure timely and efficient completion.
- Develop and implement emergency on-call procedures to address unforeseen maintenance issues.
- Preventive Maintenance and Equipment Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all warehouse equipment, machinery, dock doors, and other facility infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
- Conduct regular property inspections to assess maintenance needs, identify areas for improvement, and ensure the timely correction of unsafe conditions.
- Coordinate and oversee routine and emergency maintenance, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards and operational requirements.
- Maintenance Operations and Repairs:
- Oversee the repair of equipment, including forklift maintenance, dock doors, dock locks, basic plumbing, electrical issues, and welding tasks.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities, including corrective, deferred, and emergency repairs, are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Provide technical support and service for dock doors and other facility equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and other work orders to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare purchase orders, order parts and supplies, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist in all aspects of project maintenance, including custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and other facility-related tasks.
- Ensure unsafe conditions are identified and addressed promptly, with a focus on maintaining a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the maintenance department.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in maintenance supervision, ideally within a warehouse, industrial, or similar environment.
· Strong technical expertise in machinery maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, with in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and other maintenance tasks.
· In-depth understanding of safety standards, equipment reliability, and preventive maintenance practices.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team effectively.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to analyze complex issues, implement effective solutions, and make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education and/or Experience
· High school diploma (or equivalent); advanced training or degree in building maintenance, management, construction, skilled trades, or related subject preferred.
· Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance with 5 or more years of experience in building maintenance.
· At least 1 year of supervisory experience required.
· OSHA 10 certification preferred.
· Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
· Proven proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
