Position:
Lycée International de Houston is seeking an energetic and motivated School Life Coordinator for the School year 2025-2026 to assist with and perform a variety of essential school duties. As a School Life Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and smooth functioning of day-to-day school life activities. This role requires the ability to handle emergencies effectively, multitask efficiently, and manage stress gracefully. Flexibility and adaptability to work in shifts when needed are highly valued.
Successful applicants must undergo a background check and drug testing.
Requirements:
- A passion for working with children, with patience and the ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resourcefulness and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in French and Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Student Safety and Security: Enforce school procedures to ensure a safe environment for students.
- Duty Schedules: Assist in creating, managing, and enforcing duty schedules for faculty staff.
- Meal Supervision: Oversee the cafeteria, including meal and snacks distribution.
- Recess and Nap Time: Supervise and organize recess and nap time to ensure smooth operations.
- Supplies and Purchases: Coordinate and manage the procurement of meals and supplies related to school life (cafeteria and snacks.)
- After-School Program: Develop and oversee after-school activities, including:
- Organizing and scheduling activities
- Creating program catalogs
- Searching and coordinating with vendors
- Managing spaces, materials, and student registrations working alongside the accounting department
- Carpool and Pick-Up Coordination: Organize and manage carpool and student pick-up routines efficiently.
- Event Participation: Assist with and participate in All school events, such as but not limited to:
- Bingo Nights
- Egg Hunt
- La Kermesse
- Field Trips/Field days
- Movie Nights
- Classroom Supervision: Support school operations during staff absences by supervising classrooms and following teacher instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to monitor and manage student discipline and progress actively.
- Capable of moving about the classroom to engage students and facilitate activities.
- Physically able to lift and carry light classroom materials as needed.
