Job Overview:
Lyme Shores Racquet Club is seeking a qualified and responsible individual to join our team as a Seasonal Lifeguard. The lifeguard will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of participants in both our tennis camps, multi-sport camps, and Lyme Shores Members. This position is seasonal, covering the period from June 2025 to August 2025.
Responsibilities:
Water Safety: Enforce water safety rules and regulations to ensure a secure aquatic environment for camp participants and club members.
Lifeguard Duties: Monitor swimming and water-based activities, promptly respond to emergencies, and provide assistance as needed.
Pool Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized pool area, including regular checks of water quality and cleanliness.
Camp Collaboration: Work closely with staff from both tennis camps and multi-sport camps to ensure a coordinated approach to water safety during camp activities.
Member Assistance: Extend lifeguard services to Lyme Shores Club members, maintaining a vigilant presence around the pool area.
Lifeguard Certification: Hold a valid lifeguard certification throughout the employment period.
CPR and First Aid: Possess current CPR and First Aid certifications.
Camp Procedures: Familiarize yourself with camp procedures and emergency protocols to effectively respond to any situations that may arise.
Staff Integration: Attend camp training sessions to meet and integrate with the summer camp staff, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Lifeguard Certification is required.
Current CPR and First Aid Certifications are required.
Previous lifeguarding experience is preferred.
Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water safety practices.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must attend camp training sessions before the start of the season.
Ability to work collaboratively with camp staff and club members.
