Adult Education- ESL / ELA / IET / ELA ABE Teacher (Full time) GENERAL INFORMATION Title : Adult Education- ESL / ELA / IET / ELA ABE Teacher (Full time) Department : Adult Education / Student Services Salary Grade : $30.00 per hour (this is partly grant funded)
FLSA Status : Non-exempt Site / Location : Adult Learning Center / Amelia Pride or to be determined Reports to : Adult Center Coordinator / Student Services Director Date : 7 / 17 / 2024 POSITION SUMMARY
- Adult ESL teacher works in a classroom setting providing instruction in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary acquisition, plan and implement lessons based on class syllabus and program curriculum, assists with program registration and assessment.
- Maintains monthly reports and student records, appropriate strategies used to help ESL learners at each of the six developmental levels within the program.
- In addition to ESL / ELA instruction, the teacher will provide instruction for industry recognized certifications in Integrated Education Training programs. The teacher will provide contextualized instruction to help the student improve their English language proficiency and earn an certification.
- The Adult ESL / ELA / IET teacher will also help the students learn the language necessary to help students successful earn their high school credential.
