We are looking to add a Shipping Supervisor to our team!
This individual will play a vital role in overseeing shipping operations at HQ in Milan, IL. If you have strong leadership skills, are proactive, and are flexible to adapt to dynamic business needs, we encourage you to apply!
Hours: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Pay: $52,000-$60,000 annual base salary bonus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet and/or exceed volume and department productivity goals while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Maintain and continuously improve cost-efficiency and department performance.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Confer with other supervisors in the company to ensure coordination of other functions such as production and inventory management.
- Ensure all employees are properly trained in job duties, equipment, safety, and applicable systems.
- Prepare bills of lading, hazmat/lighter orders for shipping.
- Assist employees with work process problems and resolve issues regarding shipped orders.
- Manage pickers' and packers' productivity based on weekly reports.
- Provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
- Manage hourly teams timesheets including PTO management and daily punches.
- Assist Human Resources with disciplinary issues.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of Distribution Center management experience in a multi shift distribution environment is desired.
- 2 years of experience managing a staff of 30 employees is desired.
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong knowledge of logistics procedures and operations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to crouch, carry, push, and lift up to 70lbs of product.
- Extensive knowledge of imputing and retrieving data from a computerized system.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours a day.
