What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Math Teacher position at Lyndon Town School?
Lyndon Town School, serving children in PreK- grade 8, announces the hiring of a Middle School Mathematics teacher. The current opening is in grade 6. Candidates must be dynamic, high quality math teachers interested in joining a high energy, collaborative school and possess a commitment to instructing students within a middle school model. Building strong relationships with students is a priority. Responsibilities include delivering mathematics using the Open Up Resources curriculum (OUR) utilizing a workshop model and Common Core Standards. A 5-9 Middle grades, or 7-12 mathematics endorsement is preferred. The individual will work closely within a collaborative team of sixth grade teachers and be a member of our team of middle school math teachers. Experience with evidence based mathematics strategies, workshop models, positive behavior interventions, formative assessments, and Developmental Designs are a priority. We seek creative, passionate teachers with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people while collaborating to support high levels of achievement for students. The district provides mentorship and a supportive administration.
Lyndon Town School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
