As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Database Administrator to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
- Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and patches for platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and tuning techniques.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance using administration tools and utilities.
- Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop and maintain data models, ensuring proper normalization and data integrity.
- Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages such as SQL or Python.
- Collaborate with development teams to support database-related aspects of application design and deployment.
- Ensure database security by adhering to best practices for access control, encryption, and auditing.
- Support cloud-based database solutions in platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in database management systems (DBMS): Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and familiarity with programming languages such as Python.
- Experience with database design, implementation, administration, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in database administration tools and utilities for monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation.
- Understanding of data modeling, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
- Familiarity with backup/recovery strategies and performance tuning techniques.
