• Prepares daily assignments.
• Completes department scheduling for staffing.
• Prepares schedules for weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc., special cleaning.
• Orders all equipment and supplies needed for department and ensures their safe handling and storage.
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, disciplining and terminating personnel.
• Ensures adequate training for all new staff and that an ongoing educational program is in place.
• Maintains inventory levels and monitors each month.
• Maintains all necessary information required to meet Federal and State Guidelines.

• Participates in budgeting process.
• Maintains budget compliance.
• Holds departmental meetings monthly.
• Attends all meetings and in services required.
• In services own staff to State, Federal and Facility Guidelines.
• Ensures effective policies and practices relating to infection control is in place.
• Works closely with Dietary Supervisor to ensure proper sanitization of kitchen.
• Works closely with Maintenance to coordinate job duties and special projects.
• Schedules cleaning services and cleaning compounds used, consistent with the residents’ daily routine and preferences.
• Ensures Housekeeping personnel respect residents’ rights, particularly privacy and confidentiality, and participate in resident care planning conferences.
• Ensures that safe working practices are developed and adhered to.
• Maintains effective communication with residents, families and facility staff.

• Must have at least two years experience in Housekeeping
• Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must read and write proficiently; must have good written and oral communication skills.
• Long-term care experience preferred.
