ABOUT THE ROLE:

SNAPSHOT: The Loader / Dock position is a warehouse associate based role responsible for ensuring our products and customer orders get safely, properly, and timely picked, packed and loaded onto tractor trailer trucks for maximum efficiency for the drivers next day deliveries. The position involves order selecting, separating/organizing totes / bulk inventory, and transporting items to staging area and into trailers using equipment such as electric pallet jacks, forklifts or by hand.

REPORTS TO: 2nd Shift Supervisor

COMPENSATION: starting at $16/hour

COMMITMENT: Full-Time – 4-Day Work Week: Monday – Thursdays: 2:30pm until job completed (typically 10 hours per day)

**Workdays are subject to change due to holidays and/or delivery day changes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately picks / prepares full case inventory while verifying all items are packaged correctly and stacks them on pallets using electric pallet jacks. Re-stack items, lift and re-position pallets as needed.
• Checks each order after the order picking process is completed to ensure the product is placed and stacked appropriately on the pallet(s) to prevent damage to inventory during transport.
• Wraps pallets with cellophane, verifies security of loads/pallets and makes sure shipping labels are placed properly. Moves totes and larger bundles to the staging area using a power and/or hand equipment.
• Racks totes by hand placing them in the designated slot. Unracks and stages out-going totes, larger bundles and prepares pallets in loading dock.
• Uses a handheld scanner for tracking and confirmation that all customer orders are successfully and properly loaded for next day deliveries.
• Conducts trailer inspections for cleanliness and proper temperature control before loading products.
• Locates the proper slot on the trailer for the orders, down stacks totes from pallets and secures loads with straps when complete.
• Committed to complying with safety rules / guidelines and company procedures and standards.
• Repeatedly lifts and stacks products to and from various heights weighing between 10-35 lbs. (generally up to approximately 75lbs depending on the location) throughout the shift.
• Performs general housekeeping duties and keeps warehouse area, loading dock and trailers clear and clean as required.
• Performs additional tasks that may be assigned by your manager and/or supervisor.

Requirements

ABOUT YOU:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years or older. High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mathematical skills and able to read load diagrams.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments: dry, cooler and freezer (temperatures ranging from -10 degrees to 100 degrees)
• 1 years of loading in a warehouse or shipping environment preferred with standing forklift and electric pallet jack experience required.
• Requires physical stamina: Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift. Able to lift and stack totes from various heights weighing between 10-40 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60-90 pounds.
• Able and willing to work hard in a fast-paced, schedule driven environment with time pressures to complete work efficiently and effectively. Functions as a team member with willingness to perform any duty assigned to best serve the company’s mission.
