Position:
Lyssé is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Warehouse Staff member for its Indianapolis location. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this role involves supporting inventory accuracy, receiving and verifying carton counts, inspecting for damages or discrepancies, recording shipment data, and sampling products to ensure they match packing lists. Additional responsibilities include assisting with order processing (picking, packing, sorting), maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and operating a forklift as needed. The ideal candidate is positive, motivated, and highly detail oriented.
Essential Functions:
- Receiving – assist with verifying carton count and inventory delivered noting and communicating any shortages, damages or defects as needed. Records shipment data into the system. Randomly sample products in the cartons by style, color and size to confirm what is on the packing list is what was received.
- Stocking – ensure cartons are marked clearly with the style, color and size information before placing cartons in assigned spaces for immediate order fulfillment or in re-stocking area as needed.
- Participate in inventory counting verifying system counts against physical count of stock.
- Order Picking/Filling – located ordered product indicated on the pick ticket placing it in the bin and then take it to the shipping area for further processing.
- Packing – ensure all necessary labeling is completed then place product in cartons for packing/shipping.
- Shipping – confirms appropriate shipping label is prepared per the order specifications and scans, packs and seals carton for shipping moving carton(s) to specified area to be picked up by shipping carrier.
- Maintains upkeep of work area and general warehouse area to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Distribution Center environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Data entry skills
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arm; and talk or hear.
- Frequently stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat
- Accurate, organized, and detail oriented
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 years of warehouse/inventory experience
- Forklift experience
- Forklift Certified preferred
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld devices
