Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team! You will be leading a class of students age 3-5 years through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs. We are a state-funded preschool, therefore all of our teachers must be qualified via Title 5 standards.

Shift options for Full-time: 8:00am-5:00pm or 8:30am - 5:30pm

Responsibilities
- Create and follow a comprehensive lesson plan utilizing our FunShine Express curriculum
- Teach beginning reading and math skills
- Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
- Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
- Communicate with parents and other school personnel via in-person communication, as well as our CareConnect and ChildFolio parent connection apps
- Assess student's skills and performance via twice-annual DRDP assessments to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
Title 5 Qualifications
- Associate Teacher permit or higher (or willingness to obtain)
- Qualifications include minimum 12 semester units in ECE coursework including at least 3 units in the following coursework areas:
- Child and Human Growth and Development
- Child, Family, and Community
- Programs and Curriculum
- 50 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, working at least three hours per day within the last two years.
Other Qualifications
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Knowledge of Desired Results Developmental Profile assessments preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to undergo fingerprinting and background check
- Willingness to complete Mandated Reporter, Pest Management, Sexual Harassment, and Child and Adult CPR trainings
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Problem-solving and mediation skills
Salary : $18 - $21
