The IT System Administrator is involved in evaluating and scheduling system patches, upgrades and changes at the customer site. The IT System Administrator determines root cause of complex network and system problems. Responsibilities include: resolving escalated trouble tickets; preforming server maintenance and updates, replacing hardware as needed; updating Operating Systems and Anti-virus definitions; performing PC imaging as required; assisting in maintenance calls relating to workstations, software and servers; trouble shooting and resolving server event logs and communication systems; participating in the implementation phase for projects; documenting and tracking model and serial numbers for inventory tracking; performing and documenting warranty research to ensure all equipment warranties are valid; developing and maintain preventative maintenance checklists.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Math or Physics is preferred.
Experience with MS Windows Server and Active Directory is a must. Candidates must have the ability to develop technical documentation in support of system maintenance. Experience with virtualization is desired.
Minimum requirements: High School with 10-12 years of experience troubleshooting medium to large scale network and systems with a heavy emphasis on complex issue resolution.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. Desired Certifications: Windows Server Administration, Lenel, MS Windows 2008 Server Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
Must be able to obtain MS Windows Server Certification after starting.
