Description
Position purpose
The corporate HR Generalist maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by supporting employee relation initiatives and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Tasks:
Maintain company compliance
Revise handbook policies as instructed.
Compliance reporting
Conduct HR-sensitive investigations
Verify handbook policies for disciplinary decisions
Manage benefits
Coordinate open enrollment process, insurance enrollment for new employees, insurance terminations and 401k enrollment for newly eligible employees and open enrollment; communicate all to employees.
Communicate details of company benefits to all staff including new hire education training.
Reconcile insurance deductions to invoices and rectify discrepancies.
Manage insurance terminations.
Maintain ACA compliance.
Manage payroll / compensation
Complete time editing functions and payroll, ensuring timely deposits.
Calculate and compensate incentives and commissions weekly.
Create manual checks per company policies and procedures.
Manage retro pay, reimbursements, rate changes, etc as needed.
Prepare payroll budgets annually and update as needed.
Complete clerical duties
Maintain employee personnel files in HRIS.
Manage FMLA and Leaves of absence, including return to work status and documentation..
Assist staff with HR related questions, issues, documentation, forms, etc.
Complete third party documentation related to staff.
Maintain all legal documents according to law.
Prepare and disperse needed weekly and monthly reports.
Assist managers in accomplishing their employee performance development reviews by the determined deadline.
Review and revise job descriptions as needed.
Conduct sensitive HR-related investigations.
Attend relevant educational workshops and seminars for continued education and networking..
Assist management with disciplinary document preparations and sit-ins when necessary.
Facilitate employee / employee and employee / manager discussions.
Manage all TWC claims and assist in appeals hearing prep.
“On site” attendance must fall within the company standards as outlined in the handbook.
Any other tasks required as determined by management
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years old or older
Have one or more of the following:
- HR certification or degree
- 2 yrs background in Human Resources
Work Requirements
Skills include: Active listening, complex problem solving, judgment and decision making, service orientation, coordination, critical thinking, time management, persuasion, reading comprehension, systems analysis, and awareness for safety hazards and/or dangers.
Visual acuity requirements: required to have the visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a terminal; extensive reading. They must be able to operate machines such as computers, POS Programs, Eagle Browser, open office where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach.
Equipment usage requirements: Must be able to operate machines and software such as POS/Eagle Browser, computers, security systems. They must be able to operate open office, MS Excel and Word, web-based software, phone, email, printer/scanner, fax.
Working conditions
Subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. They are subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker can be subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and exposure to high heat or chemicals.
