As we embark on this unique journey, we are looking for an individual who will play a pivotal role in building our financial foundation from the ground up.
Position Overview:
The scope of work includes monthly reconciliation, payroll processing, financial forecasting, accounts payable and receivable management, business compliance coordination, and support to Liberty Launch Academy (LLA). As the Accountant, you will be a key player in transforming our vision into reality, supporting our innovative coworking model and intentional memberships in Liberty Lake. You will be responsible for steering the financial strategy of our venture without losing sight of the day to day management of the weeds of finance and bookkeeping strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Collecting and verifying payroll information for all employees. Calculating and processing payroll amounts, including salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Distributing payroll payments to employees every 15th and last day of the month.Preparing and submitting payroll tax filings and reports.
- Financial & Risk Management Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the unique needs and goals of MØDE Campus. Innovate and adapt traditional financial practices to our pioneering model. Analyzing historical financial data to identify trends and patterns. Developing financial models to project future revenues, expenses, and cash flows. Identifying potential risks and opportunities that may impact financial performance. Preparing detailed financial forecasts and presenting them to management. Providing strategic recommendations based on the financial forecasts to support decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the financial health of MØDE Campus. Prepare reliable and insightful financial reports to guide strategic decision-making. Monthly reconciliation reports for Launchpad Assets, LLC and Mode Cowork, LLC. Payroll reports, including payroll registers and tax filings. Quarterly financial forecasts and analysis reports. Regular updates on AP/AR status. Compliance and coordination reports as needed. Support and compliance reports for LLA.
- Investment Strategies and cash flow Optimization: Make informed decisions regarding investments, capital allocation, and resource management that support our mission. Ensure that our financial resources are effectively managed to support the day-to-day operations of Mode Campus.
- Month-End Procedures: Oversee month-end closing procedures efficiently and accurately, ensuring the preparation of internal management reports. Reviewing and reconciling all bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts. Ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified. Identifying and resolving any discrepancies or inconsistencies in the financial records. Preparing monthly reconciliation reports for management review.
- Accounts Receiveable and Payable Reconciliation: You are comfortable working in the bookkeeper role. Processing and managing AP, ensuring timely payments to vendors. Managing AR, ensuring timely collection of receivables. Setting up systems and processes to streamline AR/AP, including options for ACH or other available methods.Monitoring and reporting on AP/AR status to management. Monitor accounts receivable and proactively follow up on outstanding payments to optimize cash flow. Controllership- take ownership of financial reporting for specific business areas, potentially supervising or mentoring others in financial reporting tasks.
- Governmental Accounting, reporting and compliance: Handle governmental accounting tasks, including compliance with regulations and reporting requirements specific to our industry. Ensure that we remain compliant with industry-specific regulations and standards, adapting to the evolving landscape. Ensuring all financial activities comply with state and federal regulations. Offer technical accounting expertise and guidance on complex financial transactions or issues, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in tax preparation processes and work diligently to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations relevant to our operations. Coordinating with the CPA for tax filings, audits, and other compliance-related activities. Preparing and submitting necessary reports to regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- CPA or CFA certification is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in senior finance roles with a track record of financial innovation and strategic thinking.
- Strong understanding of coworking, real estate, membership models, or innovative business models.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
