Responsibilities/Job Description

The Lead IT Asset Governance Specialist leads IT asset governance projects, ensuring high standards of compliance and driving innovation. They monitor systems for non-compliance, develop and enforce governance policies, conduct regular audits, and create comprehensive documentation. They also design training programs, promote data quality, facilitate change management, and provide industry-specific insights.

    • Lead ITAM governance projects as project coordinator and project contributor driving engagements and projects on governance, audit, compliance and more to drive innovation, efficiency, and value. Guide the team on ITAM governance tactical objectives, outcomes, and milestones in alignment with system goals and KPIs.
    • Ensure high standards of compliance by monitoring multiple systems for non-compliance in ITAM-related data management and process execution. Identify and flag users, hardware, and software that are out of compliance, initiating corrective actions or training. Work closely with required stakeholders and non-compliant users to maintain a set level of compliance threshold.
    • Drive the development and enforcement of Governance Policies, Standards, and Frameworks. Provide strategic recommendations on changes, risks, gaps, and industry trends through reports and executive-level presentations to align Fairview to excellence.
    • Conduct Regular Audits to verify data compliance and accuracy, identify areas for improvement, and drive users, data, technology, and process into meeting compliance standards.
    • Create and Maintain Comprehensive Documentation: Lead the creation and maintenance of IT asset governance documentation, including governance, policy, standards, master processes, and governance procedures, ensuring clarity and accessibility through centralized documentation platforms.
    • Design and Deliver Advanced Training Programs: Design and deliver advanced training programs through workshops, webinars, and one-on-one mentorship to stakeholders and team members on documented IT asset governance best practices and processes. Analyze trends of non-compliance to develop tailored training programs and convert findings into storyboards that highlight risk avoidance, cost savings, and maintain high compliance levels.
    • Promote Data Quality and Automation: Lead continuous improvement activities to maintain high data quality. Ensure the compliance, accuracy, and completeness of IT asset data by supporting robust data validation and verification processes. Additionally, implement automation opportunities to create efficiencies in repeat or manual workflows that may benefit all aspects of the governance team and processes.
    • Establish and Maintain Feedback Loop Systems: Establish and maintain a feedback loop system for ITAM Governance allowing for leadership-prioritized improvements, communications, or changes to process, standards, or more which allows for leadership, stakeholders, or impacted users to share with our team openly.
    • Facilitate Organizational Change Management: Facilitate organizational change management and communications through collaboration with stakeholders by participating in regular meetings and maintaining open communication channels to ensure data consistency, completeness, and seamless integration across various systems and platforms, providing awareness of and compliance with IT asset governance, policies, standards, processes, and projects.
    • Monitor and Analyze Non-Compliance Trends: Monitor and analyze trends in non-compliant data management, processes, users, and procurement methods, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions. Ensure that the governance team does not dictate IT Asset Management processes but holds stakeholders accountable to policies and standards.
    • Provide Healthcare Industry Insights: Provide insights and recommendations on ITAM governance specific to the healthcare industry, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
    • Track KPIs, Metrics, and Risk Avoidance: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and value of IT asset governance. Highlight the importance of governance in mitigating risks, ensuring compliance, and driving value through data-driven insights and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training

Experience

  • 7 years of experience in Governance including: 5 years of Senior level skillset in data governance or ITAM governance. 3 years of mentoring team members. 3 years of experience training internal/external stakeholders and partners on governance, policy, standards, governance process and skills. Demonstrated successful implementation of a data governance initiative. 3 year(s) of experience in IT Asset Management at Senior or higher level.
  • 1 year(s) of experience leading teams and complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive tactical outcomes with minimal guidance beyond strategy and expected outcomes or goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience creating presentations. Experience presenting to large audiences and all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent reporting skills with multiple of the following areas demonstrating evidence of showing the value through performance metrics, financials, capacity, smart goals, and efficiencies/automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization, including strong collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate problem-solving among groups with varying needs and priorities; effectively lead without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide tactical day-to-day decision-making while completing multiple daily objectives effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical language.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

    • 7 years of experience in ITAM Governance.
    • 2 year(s) of experience leading teams, complex projects, and/or mentoring lower-level team members to improved performance or successful outcomes.
    • Client and stakeholder relationship management experience and the ability to proactively manage expectations.
    • Experience with administration, maintenance, compliance, and management of databases or ServiceNow.
    • Experience with Regulatory & Compliance within the Healthcare Industry.
    • Experience in a large, complex organization.
    • Proven track record of achieving high-levels of compliance and effective governance in a challenging environment.
