Controller

M.I.C. Industries, Inc., a US-based manufacturer supporting international and US government customers globally for over 40 years, has an immediate need for a full-time Controller in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Reports directly to COO & CFO (#2 in company behind founder), who is enthusiastic about handing over as many financial responsibilities as candidate is qualified to execute and/or learn. Sole source product, repeat customers, once an Inc. 500 company now aggressively rebuilding after COVID slowdown. Must be a self-starter, communicator, and able to work independently. Will supervise remote workers and quick, simple audits. Position CAN grow to much more – if desired. Limited travel to our manufacturing facilities to Clear Brook, VA and Elton, PA

• Minimum 5-7 years public accounting experience, at manager level running audits
• Supervisory experience with either/both cash planning and financial statement closing
• Manufacturing, cost accounting, Epicor or other ERP system experience pluses
• M&A and due diligence experience a plus
• S-corp, RD credit and Drake tax software experiences all pluses
• Must have maintained active CPA license and understanding of current GAAP
• Basic Excel skills needed, any rudimentary ability to include AI productivity a plus
• Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize
• Excellent proactive verbal communication skills – keeps COO & CFO up to date without being asked
• Motivational skills, team attitude; other professionals candidate will work with have been successful at MIC for at least two decades.
• Financial statement preparation (including cash flows and notes) with minimal supervision
• Expediting audits (2022-2024) asap with Cohn Resnick
• Able to analyze, review and complete cash planning, overhead rates, accrual schedules and tax returns
