M.J. Scully & Co., Inc., a family owned civil / site / utility contractor that primarily works within the Rt. 128 / Metro Boston Area, is searching for an experienced field operations manager/road superintendent who is well versed in the commercial, institutional and healthcare sectors. Candidate must possess strong working knowledge (field experience) and 15 years of site work & concrete construction. Successfully candidate will be team and detailed oriented, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to effectively communicate internally with employees and externally with business partners and clients.
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- 10 years general superintendent / management experience
- Must be capable of interpreting construction drawings / specifications and be able to understand scope of work
- Field experience with extensive hands-on knowledge of all aspects of site & concrete work including foundation excavations, utility installation, supportive of excavation and complete road/parking lot construction including sidewalk & curb install
- Strong organization and communication skills are required to clearly communicate objectives & goals to others
- Need to have excellent time management skills and be able to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to problem solve and make decision in fast pace and demanding work environment
- Have or be able to obtain OSHA 30 certification
- Valid driver’s license
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as company’s main liaison for all field operations and activities.
- Review and thoroughly understand project documents and scope of works for multiple projects
- Develop and maintain daily/weekly project goals and objectives for multiple projects
- Oversee and monitor labor, equipment and material needs for multiple projects
- Communicate and work closely with field staff from start to finish to gain real time progression knowledge of each project. Work to ensure each project stays on schedule and on budget.
- Work with office staff to help produce or obtain any project related documents (i.e., submittals, RFI’s, shop drawings, vendor and subcontractor pricing & scheduling) to ensure on time delivery
- Maintain strong line of communications with GC and other agencies for all project related needs and requirements.
- Convey and maintain a “can do” and positive attitude
