Title: Annuity Marketing Consultant (“MC”)

Job Summary:
The primary role of the Annuity Marketing Consultant is to recruit and build long-lasting relationships with independent financial professionals. Upon recruitment of an agent, the Annuity Marketing Consultant is responsible for establishing a deep understanding of our customers and their businesses using company developed profiling techniques; helping grow the professional’s production utilizing existing tools and programs; offering product and client recommendations and assisting with business and marketing plans.
Summary of Essential Job Functions (include but not limited to):
• Identifying and recruiting high-value prospects and potential opportunities
• Growing the production of one’s accounts
• Educating new and existing financial professionals on how to both identify and position opportunities for fixed annuity sales
• Obtaining and providing expert knowledge in products, sales concepts, and marketing techniques to independent financial professionals with whom a relationship is built
• Promoting company and carrier products and programs through proactive, focused phone conversations, while maintaining detailed records of such
• Building and maintaining positive internal relationships, interfacing regularly with all other support teams within the company to ensure the financial professional is serviced to the highest level possible, and to promote a marketing approach in all company activities
Detailed Essential Job Functions:
• Overall strong, in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry;
• Mastery of annuity and life insurance products, as well the main industry actors;
• Product positioning expertise;
• A fluid personality to deal with financial professionals with a broad-ranging spectrum of attitudes, characters traits, backgrounds, demands, goals, dreams, etc.;
• Willing to step outside your box to learn and gain skill-sets that may not directly fall within the scope of the hour-by-hour MC function (e.g., understanding of how a financial professional’s licensing is set-up, practical knowledge of retail transactions, etc.).
• Recruiting
- Telephone-skills and mastery of selling scripts and dialogues
- Fact-finding to identify good, potential candidates to recruit
- Technological prowess to navigate the internal SalesForce system, virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom), carrier websites, etc.
- Mastery of understanding M&O’s internal value propositions
- Exceptional knowledge of what each M&O department’s function is/is not
- Proper onboarding to M&O (explaining fellow teammates’ capabilities and functions and making the proper introductions to them so they know who to go to for what, being first to provide information on the newest products at launch, very consistent touch-points during the first few months, demonstrate and walk-through M&O’s producer portals, etc.)
- Manage special compensation agreement, if any

• Business Development
- Understanding the entire professional (i.e., preferred carriers, preferred products, sales process, business model, record-keeping, past/concurrent business relationships, background, goals, prospecting, client service methodology, staff/office set-up,
- Mastery of everything behind M&O’s value propositions and applying the best ones in order to grow a professional’s business
- Create, maintain relationships with, and possibly train the professional’s staff
- Finding a way to consistently create value to the professional; regular check-ins to fix issues
- Effective time-management between recruiting and business development
- Help the professional develop new opportunities for more sales
- Implementing the proper marketing ventures to build the business up
- Teaching and educating on all facets within a professional’s daily activities
• Retain Relationships
- Temperament, strong work ethic, patience, consistent communication
- Create consistent value to ward off competitors’ chances to poke holes in the relationship
- Proper goal-setting and business planning for various stages in the professional’s career (quarterly, annually, how to exit or bring on additional staff)
Job Qualifications:
• Successful track record in sales, preferably phone sales
• In-depth knowledge of the Annuity and Insurance Industry
• Prior experience as an Internal Wholesaler for VA or Fixed Annuity Sales preferred
• Ability to work independently
