Role
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services essential for business operations while optimizing costs and ensuring quality. This role involves supplier management, order negotiation, and inventory control to maintain efficient supply chain operations. The Procurement Specialist assists in the acquisition of equipment, materials, supplies, and services to support engineering and manufacturing. This position involves the generation and execution of purchase orders, preparing and processing requests for proposals, requesting quotes, and other relevant documentation (e.g., POs, RFQs, RFPs, Invoices, etc.). The role includes various duties and job responsibilities to support overall purchasing operations. Acting as the primary point of contact between the company and external vendors, the Procurement Specialist plays a key part in ensuring that vendor services meet company standards, including timely delivery and compliance with agreements. The candidate should be well organized and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills. Specific responsibilities may include:
Roles/Responsibilities
· Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality (Quality Control), cost & delivery (Order Negotiation), and reliability (Vendor Compliance)
· Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and finance team
· Issue, manage, and track purchase orders
· Monitor inventory and determine purchasing needs (Inventory Management)
· Ensure on-time delivery and resolve order issues (Risk Management)
· Track pricing and lead times to reduce costs and prevent supply issues
· Maintain accurate purchasing records and reports
· Onboarding and vetting of key vendors for production and manufacturing
· Manage time, budget, and materials for manufacturing and production
Required Qualifications
· Associate or bachelor’s degree, applied technical training and/or certifications
· Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and 0–2 years direct procurement experience
· Strong negotiation and communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
· Ability to understand and adhere to all laws pertaining to procurement, contracts, etc.
· Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
· 3 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain roles
· Proficiency in ERP/procurement software (e.g., Smartsheets, Quickbooks, Flowtrac, etc.)
· Experience in contract negotiation, vendor assessments, and inventory management
· AS or BS degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
· Proficiency in vendor management software and supply chain systems
· Analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and supplier performance
· Ability to travel for vendor inspections when required
· Track record of working effectively in a fast-paced team environment
· Experience working effectively across various organizations (e.g., vendors, partners, stakeholders) engaged on a project
Salary
· $50,000 - $60,000 per year

Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Work Location
Brevard county, FL with a large manufacturing facility in Rockledge, FL. This location is the heart of Florida’s Space Coast.
