Role

The Staff Accountant will handle the full range of day-to-day accounting functions for M2X, from accounts payable and payroll to financial reporting, ensuring that all aspects of financial operations run smoothly. The candidate will work closely with the Controller and Chief Operating Officer ensure efficient and effective company financial operation. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and comfortable interacting with internal staff and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee all aspects of general ledger accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, acquisitions, accruals, financing transactions, account reconciliations and consolidations, ensuring timely and accurate processing across all financial operations.
• Project Accounting: Manage financial reporting and budgeting for M2X, including government contracts and capital and operational expenditures across multiple facilities.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and internal reporting packages for management, collaborating with external auditors when necessary.
• Payroll & Benefits Administration: Handle payroll processing and benefits-related financial transactions, including reconciliations.
• Cash Flow & Budget Management: With the Controller and Chief Operating Officer, prepare cash flow analysis, forecasting, and maintaining project budgets, including coordination with project managers for accurate reporting.
• Internal Controls: Monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• System Implementation & Integration: Assist with the financial integration of new projects into the platform, including setting up new entities and handling financial due diligence for potential acquisitions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance , or equivalent
• At least 2-4 years of experience in full-scope accounting, preferably in project-managed industries (construction, energy, or similar).
• Experience with accruals, payroll, accounts payable, and project-based financial reporting preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience at a public accounting firm
• Knowledge of accounting for capital projects.
• Strong understanding of financial systems, with the ability to lead system integrations and automation initiatives.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with Quickbooks and Paychex Payroll, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary:

• $105,000 - $125,000 per year
• Job Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Work Location: Rockledge FL (Brevard County), in the heart of Florida’s space coast.

Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
