What are the responsibilities and job description for the BIM MANAGER – TUCSON position at M3 Engineering & Technology?
Position Summary:
BIM manager will oversee and manage the development of Building Information Modeling (“BIM”) and Virtual Design & Construction (“VDC”) workflows at M3, working alongside project personnel to develop the means and methods that ensure the successful execution of data-rich construction projects.
Basic Duties:
- Coordinating and implementing corporate standards pertaining to design software, technical drawings, and BIM deliverables.
- Developing and managing BIM execution plans; both as general standards and tailored per-project.
- Developing and managing educational programs for M3’s production staff.
- Developing and maintaining software templates, parameters, and other support files.
- Managing and coordinating project execution standards, monitoring and reporting the progress of BIM projects with project coordinators, including drawing, model, and metadata deliverables.
- Researching and developing projects to expand M3’s BIM / VDC capabilities.
- Coordinating and administering design software installation.
- Coordinating with IT on infrastructure related projects affecting BIM workflows.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture
- 5 Years of professional working experience in a BIM managerial or supervisory role, including the management of modeling and drawing standards.
- Ability to author and maintain clear and concise execution standards pertaining to the production of BIM deliverables and execution of related workflows.
- Ability to develop, manage, and execute BIM supporting projects from start to finish.
- Ability to work with, integrate, and manage large and diverse project teams.
- Ability to support and maintain established production means and methods and identify and incorporate improvements to them.
- Expert knowledge of Autodesk software, including AutoCAD (standard, Civil3D, and Plant3D), Revit, Navisworks, and BIM360.
- Expert knowledge on managing and manipulating metadata as pertinent to model workflows.
- Ability to understand and develop integrative workflows with non-Autodesk software, such as Tekla and Solidworks, using open exchange formats such as STEP, ParaSolid, and IFC.
- Ability to travel internationally.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience with the execution of large-scale, mechanically complex industrial and commercial projects.
- Working knowledge of Dynamo and/or Revit API’s, including the authoring of custom scripts.
- Working knowledge of 4D and 5D modeling methods and executions.
