POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinician demonstrates excellence in delivering clinical and therapeutic services to students at Ivy Street School, with a particular focus on the residential aspects of their care. This includes supporting the therapeutic needs of students in their day-to-day lives, promoting emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and independent living skills within the residential program. Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Clinician provides high-quality individual, group, and family therapy, facilitates residential programming, supports bullying investigative processes, and offers consultation to residential staff to enhance therapeutic practices. The Clinician will carry a small residential caseload and hold regular therapeutic groups for students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Service Delivery
- Ensure residential clinical service delivery aligns with Ivy Street School’s values and meets IEP and treatment plan standards.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to a caseload of high-need/clinically complex students, including a small residential caseload.
- Lead therapeutic groups focused on social skills, safe relationships, and independent living skills.
- Collaborate with residential staff to implement therapeutic interventions in daily routines.
- Maintain exemplary collateral contact with outside agencies and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, offering clinical insights to support residential and therapeutic goals.
- Provide timely and high-quality documentation to meet agency and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate behavior plans and interventions within the residential setting, ensuring staff and students feel supported.
- Demonstrate leadership during bullying investigations and follow-up interventions within the residence.
Leadership & Supervision
- Provide hands-on clinical guidance to residential staff during evening shifts, modeling therapeutic interventions and best practices.
- Offer psychoeducation to residential staff on student histories, diagnoses, and behavior management strategies.
- Engage in crisis management and risk assessments as needed, particularly within the residential setting.
- Support residential staff in fostering a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages emotional and social development.
- Participate in clinical group supervision to enhance collaborative problem-solving and team growth.
Family Engagement
- Conduct family therapy sessions, focusing on strengthening the connection between residential programming and family goals.
- Partner with families to develop treatment plans that incorporate strategies for residential and home environments.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations to offer parent training programs, focusing on bridging residential skills to home life.
Residential Programming
- Work closely with residential leadership to create and implement structured therapeutic routines that promote emotional regulation and independent living skills.
- Lead recreational and therapeutic group activities during evening hours to enhance student engagement and social skills.
- Support the development and delivery of programming that integrates therapy with daily residential activities.
Continuous Learning
- Engage in professional development to maintain clinical competencies, with a focus on residential therapeutic care.
- Lead individual supervision with a focus on professional growth and integration of therapeutic practices into the residential program.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in social work (Required)
- LCSW or the ability to obtain LCSW within six months of hire ((strongly preferred)
- Experience working in residential settings, particularly with neurodiverse adolescents or young adults.
- Expertise in behavioral health, family engagement, and therapeutic programming within residential environments.
- Comfort with public speaking and excellent team collaboration skills.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and CPI (Ivy Street School can provide these trainings).
- Valid driver’s license.
