Business Development Manager
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth through identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and implementing strategic initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Business Development: Responsible for creating and implementing BD plans designed to grow the Cooperworks organization. This includes:
- Account Management: Maintaining positive, proactive relationships with our existing Architectural referral sources and General Contractor network.
- New Business Development: Developing new project referral sources and securing access to new General Contractors within targeted market segments.
- MAC Medical: Partner with MAC Medical sales to identify and capture both PLAM and PLAM/Stainless steel projects - better leveraging the strengths of the organization.
- Estimating/Quoting: Responsible for managing estimating/quoting personnel and core processes including:
- Ensuring an adequate pipeline of projects to quote through direct sales activity and researching secondary construction industry resources (Construct Connect).
- Managing the flow of projects to ensure estimating resources remain focused on projects within designated target markets.
- Monitoring quotation WIN rates and adjusting overall pricing, discounting, and product mix to ensure accomplishment of business goals.
- Employ continuous improvement methods to identify process enhancements and expand quoting capacity.
- Project Management: Work collaboratively with design engineering, project management, manufacturing, and others to support the on-time, accurate and quality delivery of products to our customers.
- Brand Development: Work collaboratively with internal and external marketing resources to develop, refine, and tell the Cooperworks brand story. Help to identify, prioritize, and develop sales tools required to accomplish the organization’s Business Development goals.
- Competitive/Market Intelligence: Proactively monitor the marketplace for competitive activity, innovative design trends and supplier alternatives. Work with leadership to analyze and convert this intelligence into:
- Potential new business lines and market segments
- Potential new supplier partnerships bringing innovative design and material options to the Cooperworks portfolio.
- Business Performance Tracking: Actively collect and analyze data to:
- Monitor BD performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Maintain accurate and timely customer records in CRM.
- Collaborate with accounting (as required) to ensure timely customer payments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
- Strong understanding of strategic planning and customer relationship management
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Business, or Engineering, required.
