Position Overview : Since 2002 the Seattle Police Foundation (SPF) has championed public safety in Seattle. Our mission : To raise support and awareness for the Seattle Police Department. The foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to supporting and strengthening the work of the Seattle Police Department (SPD) through philanthropy, advocacy, and building strong community partnerships. Seattle Police Foundation supports both the unfunded and underfunded program and capital expenses of the Seattle Police Department that fall outside of the city's budget. In addition, the foundation provides funding to officers and civilian staff through program grants that emphasize community building, crime prevention, officer wellness, and support to children and families in need.
SPF is seeking a part-time Programs and Special Projects Coordinator to bring SPD officers and civilian staff, resources, and community stakeholders together to improve public safety. This position leads the grant cycle process and works collaboratively with the SPD Grant Manager & and Seattle Police Foundation Liaison to manage all SPF grant awards. This position provides oversight to all assigned programs and interacts with a portfolio of grantees within the department. This position will support special projects, both event and program-related, that happen throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive program and grant strategy in alignment with the organization’s mission.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the foundation grant cycle, including logistics, financial management, and program support.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with SPD officers, civilian staff, and community partners to enhance program success.
- Manage grantee budgets, ensure fiscal responsibility, and track progress through SPD and community partner invoicing and payments.
- Participate in monthly bookkeeping and accounting review process.
- Create and collect content around grant funded programs and events to promote awareness and impact.
- Evaluate programs, projects, and event outcomes and make recommendations for future grant cycles.
- Collaborate and coordinate monthly with several units and precincts within SPD.
- Support the planning and execution of all foundation events.
- Support and attend board meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
