The City of Spokane invites applications for the position of
Project Employee - Climate Resilience Program Coordinator
Under general direction, assists the City's Director of Emergency Management in organizing and administering the Spokane Climate Resilience Project. This position is grant funded by the Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grant awarded by the Environmental Protection Agency.
REPORTS TO
City of Spokane Director of Emergency Management.
POSITION TERMS
This position is funded for up to twenty-four (24) month of full time employment (40 Hours Per Week).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support the activities of the Spokane Climate Resilience Project
- Manage communications with grant partners : Gonzaga's Institute for Climate, Water and the Environment, the West Central Community Center and the East Central Community Center
- Facilitate meetings with various community partners including government officials, non-profits, community members, and businesses
- Track grant timeline targets and ensure timely execution of grant activities
- Build strong relationships with community organizations, particularly with vulnerable populations
- Help develop and deliver community resilience hub certification process, trainings, and programs
- Participate in and lead internal meetings

While performing the essential functions of the job, the incumbent is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, and sit; use hands to operate a keyboard, grasp, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms, above the shoulders and below the waist; speak and hear normal speech in person and on the telephone; and lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 20 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, and dust. The incumbent's typical working conditions are moderately quiet but may include frequent exposure to computer noise. Duties may include irregular working hours, including some evening, weekend, and / or holiday work, in addition to travel to various City locations.
