  • General Function :

    Under the general supervision of the Ready, Set, Go! Senior Early Learning Program Manager, the Program Site Coordinator is responsible for day to day operations of the Ready Set Go! Program at Meadows Elementary School.

  • Program Administration

  • Knowledge and competency to operate a personal computer. Competency in using Google Suite, Word, Excel and various database programs
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possesses excellent time management, administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information

  • Supervision

  • Experience and thorough understanding of effective communication skills
  • Effective understanding of employment laws, rules and regulations
  • Ability to provide necessary information in a timely manner to staff and volunteers
  • Ability to set quality standards for programming and ensure adherence to standards
  • Demonstrates continued accountability for effective, timely and consistent supervision of staff and volunteers
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • In collaboration with the school principal, the Site Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, recruitment and daily operations of the Ready Set Go! Program
  • Conduct ongoing community outreach to identify families of young children who are not linked to any early childhood programs
  • Plan and facilitate two weekly parent-child interaction groups to build skills and provide socialization opportunities to families of children 3-5 years old
  • Facilitate and lead parenting education groups during Parent-Child Interaction Groups twice a week in English and Spanish to participants of Ready, Set, Go!
  • Conduct home visits as needed to continue engagement of families and children
  • Offer workshops in English and / or Spanish to parents / caregivers based on emergent interests and community needs
  • Schedule and conduct assessments with participants as required by program
  • Identify and refer families to Early Intervention services as needed
  • Administer surveys and questionnaires throughout program year
  • Connect families to the broader services of Metropolitan Family Service, the school district and the community
  • Provide information to families about special school events and if applicable, participate in their coordination
  • Develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with partners who are located at the school and outside in the community
  • Provide information and assist with linkage to resources as needed
  • Support families in transitioning into Kindergarten or other early childhood education programs
  • Organize and maintain personnel records and documentation as required
  • Provide and enter data through ETO database and other required systems and written reports as required
  • Set up and maintain a safe and educational classroom environment, ordering materials as needed
  • Provide reflective supervision and ongoing support to the RSG! Program Assistant
  • Work directly with Human Resources Department regarding hiring, supervision, and employee relations issues
  • Attend reflective supervision meetings with Senior Early Learning Program Manager
  • Effectively and consistently market the organization, communicating about MFS and its programs in a way that is both compelling and on message. Follow marketing guidelines in place when communicating with staff, volunteers, clients, partners, and potential supporters
  • Comply with Metropolitan Family Service policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :

  • Minimum of two years of experience in program development or leadership of early childhood program (ex.lead teacher or led early learning groups); or equivalent related experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish is required
  • Experience in supervision of staff or volunteers
  • Experience working in a public-school setting or with public school partners preferred
  • Experience working in collaboration with a variety of agencies and programs
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with other staff
  • Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Minimum of a BA or BS degree with coursework in early childhood education and child development; or equivalent related experience
  • Experience working in early childhood education, or social services programming is preferred
  • Fluency and ability to communicate effectively (read, write and speak) in English and Spanish is required
  • Language fluency will be evaluated at time of interview
  • Other Requirements :

    Personal transportation allows for travel within the Portland Metropolitan area in a timely manner. If driving a personal vehicle must maintain a valid driver license for the state of residency, personal auto liability insurance coverage and a driving record permitting coverage under the agency auto liability policy.

    MFS requires all employees and volunteers to complete a criminal background check. We review the results of all background checks individually and consider all of the circumstances of any issues that arise in a background check during the hiring process.

    Work Environment :

    Work is performed primarily on school premises and an office environment and / or at other locations as deemed necessary. May require occasional early morning, weekend or evening work. Position requires ability to sit for extended periods as well as stand. Position requires use of computer, telephone, fax machine, copier and may require accessing locations by use of stairs.
