Under the general supervision of the Ready, Set, Go! Senior Early Learning Program Manager, the Program Site Coordinator is responsible for day to day operations of the Ready Set Go! Program at Meadows Elementary School.

In collaboration with the school principal, the Site Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, recruitment and daily operations of the Ready Set Go! ProgramConduct ongoing community outreach to identify families of young children who are not linked to any early childhood programsPlan and facilitate two weekly parent-child interaction groups to build skills and provide socialization opportunities to families of children 3-5 years oldFacilitate and lead parenting education groups during Parent-Child Interaction Groups twice a week in English and Spanish to participants of Ready, Set, Go!Conduct home visits as needed to continue engagement of families and childrenOffer workshops in English and / or Spanish to parents / caregivers based on emergent interests and community needsSchedule and conduct assessments with participants as required by programIdentify and refer families to Early Intervention services as neededAdminister surveys and questionnaires throughout program yearConnect families to the broader services of Metropolitan Family Service, the school district and the communityProvide information to families about special school events and if applicable, participate in their coordinationDevelop and maintain strong and positive relationships with partners who are located at the school and outside in the communityProvide information and assist with linkage to resources as neededSupport families in transitioning into Kindergarten or other early childhood education programsOrganize and maintain personnel records and documentation as requiredProvide and enter data through ETO database and other required systems and written reports as requiredSet up and maintain a safe and educational classroom environment, ordering materials as neededProvide reflective supervision and ongoing support to the RSG! Minimum of two years of experience in program development or leadership of early childhood program (ex.lead teacher or led early learning groups); or equivalent related experienceAbility to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish is requiredExperience in supervision of staff or volunteersExperience working in a public-school setting or with public school partners preferredExperience working in collaboration with a variety of agencies and programsAbility to work independently and to collaborate with other staffEducation and Experience Requirements :
Minimum of a BA or BS degree with coursework in early childhood education and child development; or equivalent related experienceExperience working in early childhood education, or social services programming is preferredFluency and ability to communicate effectively (read, write and speak) in English and Spanish is requiredLanguage fluency will be evaluated at time of interviewOther Requirements :
Personal transportation allows for travel within the Portland Metropolitan area in a timely manner. If driving a personal vehicle must maintain a valid driver license for the state of residency, personal auto liability insurance coverage and a driving record permitting coverage under the agency auto liability policy.
MFS requires all employees and volunteers to complete a criminal background check. We review the results of all background checks individually and consider all of the circumstances of any issues that arise in a background check during the hiring process.
Work Environment :
Work is performed primarily on school premises and an office environment and / or at other locations as deemed necessary. May require occasional early morning, weekend or evening work. Position requires ability to sit for extended periods as well as stand. Position requires use of computer, telephone, fax machine, copier and may require accessing locations by use of stairs.
