Position Summary
This position will perform efficient and thorough mechanical repairs and or maintenance of all rental equipment primarily at customer job sites and occasionally in the shop.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures at job sites.
- Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components to ensure they meet company standards.
- Prepares inspection and appraisal reports.
- Completely understand the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of any piece of rental equipment
- Completes all documents associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner.
- Adhere to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls.
- Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in the work area.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years or more of work-related experience in a technician related position.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred:
- Certificate acquired through a vocational or technical school.
- Valid Class B CDL.
- 7 years or more of work-related experience with heavy equipment preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems etc.
- Must have required shop hand tools.
