Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources functions, from onboarding to benefits, payroll employee relations and safety. This role is responsible for creating, updating, and applying all HR policies and company guidelines and making sure they adhere to standards and laws initiated by authorities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives
- Manage the processing and administration of weekly payroll, resolve payroll errors, provide information, and answer questions about payroll related matters.
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
- Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefit programs
- Administer and maintain benefits and 401k, audit and pay monthly benefit invoices
- Process legal documents such as garnishments, child support, and unemployment
- Maintain employee records and processes of the employment cycle including role, supervisor, wage and department changes, job descriptions, compensation agreements, quarterly evaluations, and goals.
- Support safety, workers compensation and OSHA compliance programs.
- Manage employee leaves of absence and FMLA
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing human resource federal and state requirements
- Ensure timely completion of required reporting
- Serve as an employee contact for employee questions and concerns
- Promote company culture & employee engagement
Language Standards:
- Must speak, understand, and write fluently in English
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field
- 2 years of experience in Human Resources
- Familiarity with UKG is preferred but not required
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams
- Ability to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Capability to work under pressure to meet multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
- A valid driver’s license
- This position requires travel up to 15%.
