MacDonald Training Center (MTC) is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities by fostering independence and enhancing their quality of life. We are seeking a part-time Fine Arts Instructor to provide compassionate care, support, and training to individuals in our Day Program while promoting independence and community inclusion.
Compensation: $18.00/hour
Location: Sabal Park, Tampa, FL

- Ensures that individuals receive appropriate supervision in the arts studio to maintain health and safety.
- Educate, expose, and allow individuals to experience various art forms outside of MTC and transportation service as it pertains to gallery and exhibit outings with art students.
- Promote individuals' choices in pursuing creative talent and working on projects that are meaningful to them.
- Maintain the MTC Fine Arts Gallery and ensure display is current and, pieces are displayed appropriately and labeled.
- Ensures necessary agreements with individuals are current.
- Promote MTC and MTC Fine Arts at various community events and venues.
- Work closely with the Development Team to support the marketing of MTC.
- Complies with MTC policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, safety and emergency procedures, requirements of APD, and other regulatory agencies.
- Serves as a backup driver for the transportation program.
- Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with a variety of art media, tools, and techniques and instruction on all.
- Understanding of the process of creating, framing, and displaying art in a gallery or exhibit setting and/or for submission for consideration in contests.
- Demonstrated artistic talent.
- Ability to facilitate instruction of and expression through art.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and person-centered service models preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email.
- Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record is required.
- Must pass a Level II background check, drug screening, and FDOT/MVR check.
