Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and the ability to work effectively with financial software.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll records, including employee information, timekeeping data, and deductions.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation related to payroll accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and submit governmental accounting reports as required by law.
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries related to payroll transactions.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify payroll-related transactions.
- Collaborate with HR to manage employee benefits and deductions effectively.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide necessary documentation when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll processing and understanding of financial concepts.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools used for payroll management.
- Knowledge of debits, credits, balance sheet reconciliation, and governmental accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with employees at all levels.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
