CDL Driver - Concrete Mixer
Machado Construction Co., Inc. – Ready Mix Division
No experience driving a concrete mixer truck, no problem. We will take our time and train you! Only requirement is that you be able to drive a 10-speed manual transmission.
Machado Ready Mix in Baltimore, MD is seeking safety-minded Ready-Mix Truck Drivers to deliver concrete from our batch plant to customer job sites. Duties: (may perform any and/or all of the following)
- Provide quality and good customer service
- Follow procedures to ensure truck is safe to operate
- Complete required pre and post trip inspections reporting necessary maintenance as required.
- Operate truck to receive load, evaluate slump and drive safely to job site
- Safely maneuver truck on job site, attach chutes to discharge material, clean truck to minimize concrete buildup
- Complete all forms, tickets and required paperwork in a timely manner
- Keep inside and outside of truck clean
- Communicate with dispatch, maintenance and plant management to facilitate the flow of information required to provide good customer service
- Ensures safe work environment and quality standards are maintained
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and have at least 2 years’ experience driving a truck with a GVW of 70,000 lbs.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Must operate a 10-Speed Manual Transmission
- Retain a DOT physical card and Pass a DOT drug screen
- Punctual and consistently arrives at work on time
- Ability to follow all safety standards and policies
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and sit
- Frequent use of hands to handle and reach
- Frequently required to reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and balance
- Frequently required to lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus
Schedule:
- 10 hour shifts
- Monday-Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends & nights as needed
