POSITION: Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing Lead

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations, Tucson

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Lead. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing lean methodologies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the deployment of OpEx 2.0 initiatives in Tucson and support the same across Machine Solution sites
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting awareness, engagement, and adoption of improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Analyze current production processes to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and optimize productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality, and supply chain to implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and facilitate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on Lean principles and best practices.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of improvement initiatives.
  • Support the design and implementation of process layouts, equipment selection, and workflow optimization.
  • Participate in cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and safety standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year degreeina business, technical or engineering discipline with two years manufacturing experience or 4 years related business experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data effectively.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow, Green or Black Belt Certification a plus

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups and at all levels of the organization.

Math Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10%

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
