Job Description:
As a Machinist, you will operate and maintain precision machinery to manufacture, modify, or repair metal and plastic parts specific to Machine Solutions. You will interpret blueprints, set up tools, and use equipment to ensure high-quality, accurate production. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

The physical demands for this role include standing for extended periods, frequent walking, and performing repetitive motions such as bending, lifting, and reaching. Employees must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance. Noise levels can be high, and tasks may involve lifting or moving parts. Minimal time will be spent in wet or humid conditions, and near caustic or toxic chemicals.

Job Description:
As a Machinist, you will operate and maintain precision machinery to manufacture, modify, or repair metal and plastic parts specific to Machine Solutions. You will interpret blueprints, set up tools, and use equipment to ensure high-quality, accurate production. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setups, operates, and adjusts precision surface grinders to meet surface finish and tolerance requirements.
- Measure, examine, and test parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers, indicators, gauge blocks, and surface plates to achieve tolerances of less than /-0.0002”
- Calculate basic dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of GD&T, mathematics, and instrumentation standards.
- Selects the appropriate cutting conditions for grinding wheel type, feeds, & speeds based on application.
- Coordinates with our assembly team to grind custom parts per the given application based on visual inspection results.
- Aids in continuous improvement initiatives to improve part quality, reduce runtimes, and minimize scrap.

Education And/Or Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.
- Strong understanding of geometry, algebra, and measurements for precise machining.
- Familiarity with different metals, plastics, cutting tools, and machining techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machines to maintain quality and efficiency
