What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing and Inventory Specialist position at MACHINE TOOL CAMP?
Job Duties Include:
- Direct engagement MRP/ERP computer software to manage BOM’s, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, work-orders, routings, picklists, etc.
- Verbal and written communication with internal and external customers and vendors
- Working with Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Purchasing of components and raw materials used in our products
- Requesting quotes and coordinating delivery dates with vendors
- Issuing Purchase Orders
- Shipping and Receiving
- Managing inventory locations, allocations, shortages, stock levels, etc.
- Picking kits of parts from inventory and delivering them to assembly in a timely fashion
- Occasional driving of company vehicles, including our 26’ delivery truck, in the procurement of parts
- Occasional operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. while loading/unloading trucks and moving parts
- Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite the flow of material to meet production schedule
- Utilize ERP system to auto‐generate manufacturing work orders
- Release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for kit picking
- Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages
- Completes status reports as needed
Summary
As a Purchasing and Inventory Specialist, you will be be adding the human element between our ERP system and the internal and external customers and vendors.
