Maclay Pre-K is seeking an energetic, flexible, nurturing, hard-working Pre-K teaching assistant for the coming school year. Assistants are responsible for helping the teacher with class instruction and other duties. Duties include working with small groups of children to reinforce lessons, providing one-on-one instruction to students, supervising students in the classroom on the playground, and at special areas, and prepping learning materials. The hours are 7:45-3:30 Monday, and 7:45-1:30 Tuesday- Friday.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Enjoy working with young children
- Experience working with Pre-K aged students
- Committed to nurturing a community where students feel safe, respected, and engaged
- The ability to work positively and professionally with students, parents & peers
- The ability to communicate thoroughly, accurately, and concisely with all constituents on a school environment
- Ability to successfully pass a Federal and FDLE background check
- Outstanding personal recommendations
Physical Demands:
The role necessitates frequent standing, walking, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to engage effectively with children at their level.
It requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, and to manipulate objects, tools, or controls with hands.
The employee will frequently be required to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as repositioning children and handling instructional materials.
The position demands agility to move swiftly in response to various situations.
Clear and audible communication is essential for providing instructions and interacting effectively.
The ability to hear and comprehend speech at normal levels is necessary for effective communication with children.
Close visual acuity is required for tasks such as observing detailed aspects of objects, reading, preparing classroom materials, and supervising children.
Work Environment:
The work setting is dynamic and may be noisy due to the presence of children. This role may also involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions during the supervision of outdoor activities.
